How free are you about changing notes in music?

Change the notes in my compositions without asking me, and I will give you a hard time. Continue to do so, and I'll get a court order barring you from playing my music in public. Clear enough? And I'd give any composer of the last century or so the same respect. Now, if you have a beef about a particular note, or a suggest, I'm willing to listen, and sometimes I do change it. But it's collaborative; they're my notes, not yours.
