I am traveling to Karachi Pakistan with American contractors what should we expect - Safety, eating, culture,?

I will be in Karachi. Where should Americans go? I know that it is not Safe but are there areas to go to the bazars safely and what about the food, any sugestions? I am a world traveler and have lioved in South America and in Chad so I am familiar with other culture and with Muslim culture. I would love some help as I am the leader of the group..
