Help please please please help?

im a ten year old girl and i need another dog but my parents wont let me. I have an 85 pound dog that needs a friend. I want a shetland sheepdog. My mom seems more interested now but i mean arent they cute my dogs name is jake and hes a mixed breed if we got a new dog he would get jelous for about a day but then they would start playing to gether please help
